Research abstract

Our team aims to develop a cathodic-arc-based high-current electron source capable of driving a high efficiency electric propulsion Hall effect thruster. Our primary goal is to enable multimode chemical and electric propulsion systems that utilize a common propellant tank to achieve performance capabilities commensurate with stand-alone high-performance electric propulsion systems operated on krypton or xenon.
