Research abstract

The proposal addresses the Air Force CIGTF's objective to develop miniaturized hardware, and software configurations that emulate flight reference systems in high dynamic flight scenarios. The proposed system, CHAPS-II, meets the above objective, and provides highly accurate GPS measurements in both jamming and no-jamming test conditions. Effective error mitigation algorithms and techniques are employed to further improve the navigation accuracy of the reference system while providing the above capability. A GSPR receiver design is proposed which will operate well both in jamming or no-jamming tests. The proposed CHAPS-II system meets the size requirement of 1.5 cu.ft. with sufficient margin for future growth. The Phase I effort will identify the preferred reference system configuration, provide the rationale for the choice and will identify components to replace current flight reference systems. The Phase II effort will complete the CHAPS-II system design, will develop integration drawings and will implement the mitigation algorithm s in Ada programming language.
