Research abstract
Fleet Robotics introduces an innovative autonomous robotic solution aimed at enhancing the sustainment and management of NAVSEA's naval assets. Our approach centers on the deployment of advanced robots designed for continuous hull maintenance, including cleaning and condition monitoring, which are critical to maintaining hull integrity and operational efficiency. These robots are permanently stationed on vessels, providing real-time, comprehensive monitoring and maintenance across any global location, thereby ensuring optimal vessel performance, fuel efficiency, and operational effectiveness. Our solution not only maintains high operational standards and vessel readiness worldwide but also transitions hull maintenance from a traditionally reactive to a streamlined, predictive operation. This enhances fleet readiness and supports the Navy’s goals to enhance sustainability and minimize environmental impacts. The integrated maintenance approach ensures that each phase of a vessel’s lifecycle is supported by continuous, data-driven insights, allowing for proactive interventions that keep the Navy's assets in peak condition. Our Phase I technical effort, in collaboration with Mantel Technologies and Kazuma LLC, is designed to redefine naval asset management, ensuring that NAVSEA's fleet remains robust amidst evolving technological and operational challenges. Ultimately, this project aims to extend the lifespan and efficiency of naval vessels and modernize maintenance protocols in alignment with contemporary, data-driven practices.
