Research abstract
Genesis Systems’ Renewable Water from Air (RWA) technology offers a transformative solution for decentralized, mobile, and scalable water production, addressing critical operational needs for the U.S. Army in austere and contested environments. This advanced Atmospheric Water Generation (AWG) system will produce 650 gallons of potable water per day (enough to support a U.S. Army Company) with an energy efficiency of ?1 kWh per gallon, significantly reducing logistical vulnerabilities associated with centralized water supply chains. Leveraging innovative lessons learned in SBIR Phase II, this Phase II Sequential will produce a product format that will solve logistical water supply needs almost anywhere on earth. Designed for resilience and adaptability, this mobile version of our advanced RWA technology will feature modular components and ensure ease of maintenance. Systems will be electromagnetic pulse (EMP) and power surge hardened, enhancing reliability during operations in high-risk environments. Meanwhile, integrated remote monitoring capabilities will enable decentralized operation across multiple sites. With core technologies field-tested and proven in emergency scenarios, including hurricane response and typhoon efforts; and used in real-world military deployments and exercises, the system has demonstrated its robustness, providing critical water supplies during deployments and crises validating operational readiness for versatile applications. Advanced filtration and disinfection processes will meet stringent potable water standards; Genesis Systems’ RWA technology will ensure safe water production under challenging conditions. Its compact, transportable and self-contained design will seamlessly integrate into existing military logistics with an overall weight ?10,000 pounds and transportable within the dimensions of a Light Medium Tactical Vehicle (LMTV). This technology increases operational agility and autonomy. By reducing reliance on vulnerable resupply convoys and mitigating associated risks, this innovation also enhances mission flexibility and force protection. Genesis Systems’ patented RWA technology will transform how the U.S. Army sustains water by allowing remote outposts, disaster response, and established bases to become self-sustaining by narrowing or eliminating dependency on external deliveries while reducing unit waste footprint by more than an estimated 10,000 plastic bottles a day. By solving the infinite logistics burden of water, the technology provides mission sustainment, reduces water transportation risks, enhances mission effectiveness, reduces waste and pollution increasing both health and morale.??Positioned as a cornerstone for future distributed operations, Genesis Systems’ RWA technology advances the U.S. Army’s climate strategy while addressing urgent water sustainment challenges in nearly all military and disaster response contexts.
