Research abstract

The proposed Phase I work effort will achieve the following objectives: (1) Determine the feasibility of simulating. CASS digital functions in software, (2) Develop a fundamental approach for the creation of an integrated diagnostic tool that allows for digital fault verification in an integrated test software environment. (3) Investigate development of improved digital diagnostic algorithms that may shorten the development time or improve the performance of fault diagnostic programs. Integrated Test Solutions (ITS) has been expending work effort in both the Federal Government area and the private sector to meet objectives similar to the above listed objectives in order to provide solutions to customer's test problems which are identical to those of the Navy. The Phase I effort will be a continuation of previous ITS work, but will direct the outcome to the achievement of the Phase I objectives. ITS will expand on previous work in state sensitive trace, LASAR device model development and the development of relevant algorithms to ascertain the feasibility of creating a Fault Simulation Environment which would be a major element of the integrated test software environment. This continuing ITS work effort has essentially established the framework for accomplishing the work in Phase I, and it has enabled ITS personnel to obtain a knowledge of the state of the art available for achieving the Phase I objectives.
