Research abstract

The mission of the Space Domain Awareness Tools Applications and Processing Laboratory (SDA TAP Lab) in Colorado Springs is to ensure that “space superiority missions succeed by rapidly onboarding apps to close gaps…. getting solutions to operations quickly.”   One of the foci of the SDA TAP Lab is to develop automated kill chains to aid in the protection and defense of the United States and its allies from anti-satellite threats (ASAT) in low earth orbit (LEO) and geostationary earth orbit (GEO) and to detect those threats at both the direct ascent and co-orbital phases. To support this mission need, Wallaroo.AI, in this Phase I effort, will conduct R/R&D to determine the feasibility of developing and deploying two new AI models meant to classify UCTs based on behavior or object characteristics that could point to the object being a threat.
