Research abstract

Post-Quantum Labs (PQL) proposes an innovative STTR project to develop advanced swarm technology for autonomous unmanned aerial systems (UAS). This proposal aligns with the Air Force's Agile Combat Employment (ACE) doctrine, enabling rapid deployment and resilient operation of UAS swarms in contested environments. The core of PQL's proposed solution lies in cutting-edge AI/ML algorithms that drive swarm intelligence, enabling collaborative sensing, autonomous decision-making, and coordinated maneuverability. Furthermore, PQL will integrate quantum-resistant communication protocols based on Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) to ensure secure and reliable data exchange within the swarm, even in the face of evolving cyber threats. This research will also explore AI-driven strategies and tactics for swarm-on-swarm engagements, providing a decisive advantage in complex aerial battlespaces. PQL's UAS-focused expertise and dedication to rapid technology transition will ensure that this critical capability is swiftly fielded to enhance the Department of the Air Force's operational effectiveness in dynamic and challenging environments.
