Research abstract

ALE’s proposed project seeks to improve the capabilities of our existing commercial Zero Volt (ZV) cell and qualify the new cell per AIAA S-144-202X "American National Standard Qualification and Acceptance Tests for Commoditized Space Battery Cells” for space use and demonstrate safety testing which satisfy UN 38.3 requirements. ALE’s proposed project will enable ALE’s domestically manufactured high energy 18650 cells and configurable 5781173 prismatic cells with improved ZV stability to be capable of operational use by USSF.
