Research abstract

Brandywine Photonics has previously developed a modular payload interface and processing electronics called the SE-230 based on the VNX VITA-74 form factor. Based on this previous product, Brandywine will design, build, and test a higher speed VNX VITA-90 embedded computing platform with and integrated Graphical Processing Unit (GPU) processor and real-time algorithms. This new system, the AE-250, will be able to process hyperspectral data in a form factor commensurate with a 5” diameter cylindrical volume, which current VPX embedded systems do not support.  Finally, the system shall be tested with an Infrared LED scene projector with representative hyperspectral scenes to validate algorithm performance on the GPU.
