Research abstract

The ADAPT (Auto Detection And Processing Toolkit) framework is our modular and flexible computer vision platform designed to automate the analysis of high-speed visual and infrared video data across various applications. Our specialized product, ADAPT-ignite, tailors this technology to address the critical need for analyzing ignition events in aircraft dry bays caused by ballistic threats. ADAPT-ignite leverages advanced machine learning algorithms and state-of-the-art image processing techniques to provide precise temporal and spatial analyses, significantly enhancing fire prevention measures and improving aircraft safety. The tool automates the detection and measurement of complex interactions between fragment flashes, armor-piercing incendiary projectile function clouds, and leaking fuel, offering unparalleled accuracy and efficiency over traditional manual methods.
