Research abstract

Aircraft survivability and ballistic test data collected over the last six decades represent a valuable repository of information.Ā However, seemingly endless quantities of historic PDF data provide little insight.Ā The proposed Aircraft Survivability Data Encapsulation and Analytics Tool uses modern data mining techniques to extract, cluster and visualize this data, providing meaningful information to survivability engineers.Ā Furthermore, extraction and storage of the data, along with metadata, allows future tools suites to read and analyze the existing data without writing custom extraction tools.
