Research abstract

Attritable low SWaP-C UAVs utilize single GPS antennas as part of their GPS receivers because CRPAs have far too high a SWaP-C. NotchÆs solution is to retrofit and integrate electronically controlled metasurfaces embedded inside the radome that houses the GPS receiver and antenna. The metasurfaces are spatially distributed over the radome and can be independently controlled to be made reflective, to block a jammer, or transparent to allow a desired GPS signal to pass through.
