Research abstract
RangeVision is committed to developing a secure and resilient software solution for the Space Force Range modernization efforts, aiming to overcome challenges such as immediate obsolescence, siloed solutions, non-standard infrastructure architecture, and cybersecurity vulnerabilities. By adhering to industry standards and best practices outlined by organizations like NIST, DoD, and RMF guidelines, RangeVision ensures compatibility, interoperability, and robustness throughout the development lifecycle. The implementation of secure software development practices, including continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines following DevSecOps principles, ensures that security measures are integrated from the initial design phase to deployment. By streamlining data analytics processes into a unified platform, RangeVision eliminates siloed solutions and simplifies maintenance efforts, thus enhancing operational efficiency. RangeVision prioritizes cybersecurity by incorporating secure coding techniques, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing, aligned with RMF guidelines and NIST SP 800-53. Moreover, the platform promotes alignment among engineering efforts by providing a centralized platform for collaboration and data sharing, facilitating communication and coordination between different engineering teams. The RangeVision project aims to develop a prototype that integrates various data sources within space launch ranges into a Unified Data Analytics capability, enhancing operational efficiency and mission success. Lessons learned from past projects are incorporated to avoid ineffective techniques, ensuring a secure and successful implementation of the unified data analytics capability.
