Research abstract

The goal of HARMONY is to produce enhanced UAV tracking which can effectively detect, identify, and track unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) swarms with high probability of detection and low probability of false alarms. This encompasses real-time swarm identification, single target identification within a swarm, and swarm tactic classification. HARMONY employs a generalized approach to sensor fusion so that modular addition of sensors offers seamless battlefield deployment. This is achieved through a novel hybrid fusion approach allowing for sensor insertion at various levels. The novel fusion algorithm at track-level gives HARMONY an invaluable tactical advantage in swarm identification and countermeasure planning where other approaches fail.
