Research abstract

Azure Summit Technology, Inc. (Azure) will analyze and architect the wideband 16x12 non-blocking RF switch initial design through thorough trade studies of best in class and state of the art technologies. Azure’s objective and highly achievable solution is to enhance our highly successful existing 6GHz 16x12 6U VPX Fully Non-Blocking RF Switch to 18GHz total bandwidth. Azure’s design will evaluate the insertion loss associated with the extended frequency range, including methods to mitigate that loss to avoid issues with the primary RF performance metrics of Gain, NF, IIP3 and P1dB. Azure has been investigating options for higher performing amplifiers, lower insertion loss switches, and lower loss PCB substrates for consideration in this design. The final design will provide electrical ICDs as well as software development kits for control of the switch
