Research abstract

The US Air Force is seeking an aircraft vibration harvester (AVH) for enabling easy installation of wireless sensor systems on an aircraft without significant modifications.á The AVH will need to support continuous power and voltage requirements for the sensors for the entire flight duration. Lynntech proposes an ultra-high-power density piezoelectric energy harvesting system to harness mechanical vibration energy from the aircraft. A previously developed multi-stage harvester and advanced energy harvesting circuit is proposed to be refined with automatic resonant frequency tuning and designed to meet military standards for a complete integrated solution. The existing design shall be scaled up with integration of multiple harvesters to demonstrate a flight worthy prototype system meeting the higher power target.
