Research abstract

This Phase I and follow on Phase II proposal will design and build a Celadyne Dura Enabled fuel cell system for air and space applications. Celadyne has advanced the DuraTM materials platform to enable fuel cells that are lighter, more durable and more efficient. Prior work has integrated DuraTM into 100 W drop in fuel cell prototypes for future infantry use. This proposal builds on that progress by designing and developing plug -and- play 5 kW full fuel cell systems for unmanned aerial systems and satellites for Space Command, Special Operations, and air vehicle applications. During this three month effort, Celadyne will network and conduct outreach for development and integration of their 5kW fuel cell. Primary outreach will include the Air Force Research Lab and the AFRL Space Vehicles Directorate.
