Research abstract

Fiber-to-chip coupling loss is optical power loss that occurs between an optical fiber and a photonic integrated circuit. This loss occurs due to various factors involved in the interface between the fiber-optic communication system and the photonic integrated circuit. This proposal is to identify and model fiber-to-chip coupling solutions while collecting input and feedback from AF users. The photonic integrated circuit of interest is a wavelength converter integrated with a Rydberg atom sensor for Quantum RF applications.
