Research abstract

Haiku provides basic & advanced cybersecurity training in the form of a game-based platform. Players engage in a compelling, stimulating video game experience while learning real-world cybersecurity skills. We propose to integrate real-time threat data into our platform to visualize the threats and use AI to both simulate attacker actions based upon known TTPs as well generate defensive action plans that can be used to both coordinate responses and for training. The cybersecurity requirements of the DoD are unique & different from any other commercial requirements. The rapid evolution of cyber attacks necessitates continuous learning & adaptation. The lack of effective cybersecurity training against real-world threats leads to a lack of Airman readiness. To keep pace with evolving technology and identify real-time cybersecurity threats, the DAF needs a customizable platform that can be used to create training based upon real-time threats that can be tested using AI. Using a game-based visualization & training platform allows the safe creation of training against real-time threats without the risks of deploying live malware in a cyber range. The Haiku game-based platform with the Forge capability and AI integration allows organizations to simulate real-time threats, anticipate how those threats will affect their networks, and create both AI-drive mitigation plans as well as training.
