Research abstract

Our team will create integrated wireless charging and unmanned systems solutions tailored to the perimeter surveillance responsibilities of the 72nd Security Forces Squadron at Tinker Air Force Base. Outfitting Asylon’s unmanned repower stations with Spark Connected’s wireless charging transmitters, we will eliminate battery limitations constraining UAV aerial coverage. This feasibility study will adapt our core technologies to validate the charging performance, autonomy, ruggedness, and endurance required for continuous base perimeter monitoring.  Spark Connected’s key innovations in high-efficiency wireless power transfer are supported by proprietary artificial intelligence algorithms automating system control and optimization. Integrated UAV recharging promises near-persistent visibility for security while reducing battery burdens. Further minimizing human dependencies; geolocation and autonomous docking provide continuous, secure coverage. Expanded aerial persistence and automated hands-free operation will bolster training capabilities for the squadron’s Airmen. By eliminating coverage gaps that allow adversary infiltration, our solution enhances base defense and resilience.  By expanding into defense applications, we leverage our experiences and commercially proven wireless and autonomous systems tailored to capability demands. Positive results position us for follow-on DoD contracts providing similar wireless charging unmanned solutions at scale. The same technology promises additional civilian benefits including automated infrastructure inspection, private security, and site monitoring market sectors.
