Research abstract

Curley Enterprises’ FrostyFlake solution is an AI-powered, geographically dispersed weather monitoring algorithm that utilizes available camera networks and publicly available data streams from weather monitoring stations, satellites, radar, and forecasting services to continuously monitor current weather conditions at scale while providing automated alerting of inclement weather through any smart device. Unlike the weather applications currently available commercially, FrostyFlake is hyper localized using commodity cameras to tell you exactly what the weather is, at that exact moment, where you are searching. FrostyFlake “sees” current weather conditions through novel, innovative image/video recognition algorithms and conversion to text, improving its accuracy as surveillance and analysis continues. FrostyFlake also provides historical weather data and trends, and its map view, paired with text, email, or other notifications provide dispatch and field level information for operational decision-making. Inclement weather is a major safety consideration for flight and training operations throughout the DAF. Operational Support Squadrons manage diverse airfield, airspace, and flight scheduling operations to enable units to conduct advanced operational, test and training missions. They are also responsible for scheduling, training, weapons, tactics and planning staff functions. Weather affects commanders’ time/space assumptions when planning operations. Curley Enterprises believes it’s FrostyFlake algorithm can meet their defense need of non-traditional sensors to improve sensing density, accuracy, and coverage to build current observations in support of global reconnaissance operations.
