Research abstract

Battle Sight Technologies, LLC ¢ REGEN (Remote Electricity Generation) As the Air ForceĀĀprepares for the next fight, they are continuously seeking new technologies to provide an advantage over the enemy within the Operational Imperatives. This technology progression increases our reliance and demand on electric power, but austere and contested environments prove to be short of supply. Battle Sight Technologies (BST) proposes an energy harvesting technology to supplement and re-charge batteries to keep forward deployed warfighters in the fight longer. This technology significantly enhances the Air ForceÆs ability to implement three key imperatives:ĀResilient Basing,ĀReadiness to Deploy and Fight, andĀMoving Target Engagement. The Phase I effort will focus on establishing specific performance requirements for REGEN and identifies quantifiable heat sources available in austere environments to support thermal-to-electrical power generation.ĀBST has previously validated this technology by harvesting power from heated weapon barrels and will modify the form factor for a more universal implementation.
