Research abstract

Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI), in collaboration with Thorlabs’ fluoride optical fiber and optical fiber processing groups, proposes to develop a high power, compact laser system that combines outputs from 20 high power MWIR QCLs using a custom, high throughput 10x1 fused fluoride fiber combiner to achieve up to 60W output power from a single output fiber.  The fiber-coupled output of our proposed system could be coupled to a larger beam delivery system, such as a beam director, for long distance directed energy applications.
