Research abstract

We will develop a beam combiner specifically applicable to high power Mid-Infrared lasers. The effort will leverage proprietary hollow core fiber optic technology by OKSI and our spin-off company, Guiding Photonics. In Phase I we will investigate options for producing the combiner, and a breadboard version will be produced. The concept will be proven with demonstrations using existing lasers at OKSI, and based on the results, a high fidelity prototype design will be developed including the ability to manufacture for DOD applications. In Phase II, we will further advance the technology and produce complete prototypes for both DOD and commercial applications.
