Research abstract

This proposal is for Sequential Phase II development, testing and initial transition and commercialization of Perceptronics SolutionsÆ innovative system for AI enabled optimization of Persistent UNmanned Team (PUNT). PUNT enables the creation of AI software optimization algorithms for sensing and persistent coverage of a predetermined area of interest by swarms of assets capable of autonomous navigation. PUNT provides autonomous reactive algorithms for UAS decisions to support positioning and energy saving requirements through various power management techniques.? Algorithms are validated in-flight with the use of low-cost UAS systems and sensors. PUNT capabilities align with Army modernization priorities including sensing and targeting for long range precision fires along with enhanced survivability and effects delivery for next generation combat vehicles and future vertical lift. The Sequential Phase II effort will provide the opportunity to further explore and validate a variety of decision making approaches through live flight demonstrations. The PUNT Phase II effort demonstrated the capability of on-board radio frequency (RF) detection and collection during UAS flight with the use of low cost SDRs and processing. The follow-on effort will enable the team to employ more sophisticated electronic warfare processing and act as part of a larger collaborative EW capability.
