Research abstract

Networked Collaborative Autonomous (NCA) munition swarms are predicted to be an important capability to counter near-peer adversaries in future conflicts without placing undue risk on our pilots. Among the many requirements of future NCA munition swarms is the ability to perform robust automated target acquisition (ATA). The Government requires the ability to test and evaluate NCA technology in collaborative ATA missions using its Golden Horde Colosseum (GHC) framework. This requires modeling of advanced sensors and sensor processing algorithms onboard the platform to stimulate the fusion algorithms required for collaborative ATA.á These are currently unavailable in the GHC. Toyon proposes the research and development of GHC enhancements to support Test and Evaluation of Fusion Algorithms for Collaborative Automatic Target Acquisition (TE-FACATA). Toyon will work with the Government to define requirements for an updated GHC and will develop and deliver updates to both the core GHC software, underlying AFSIM scenario, and develop new sensor models to achieve those requirements. To facilitate validation, Toyon will also develop a Gladiator foundation supporting diverse fusion algorithms and will perform an evaluation at the end of the program.
