Research abstract

Our Phase I effort proposes to conduct a trade off and sufficiency study to extend Swarmbotics AI’s Attritable, Networked, Tactical, Swarms (ANTS) software and framework, which is already proven in an ATV form factor, and implement it in a small UGV form factor (40-100lbs) capable of meeting additional SOCOM performance specifications. The study would employ an appropriately sized research platform, a digital engineering environment and expertise with hardening robotics operating systems on unmanned platforms, to produce a proposal for a prototype system that meets all SOCOM requirements. An innovative advantage of porting the ANTS system to the desired form factor is that ANTS offers the ability to integrate capabilities for autonomy and swarm control from the outset of system prototyping.
