Research abstract

The Air Force owns thousands of weapon systems that are reliant on regular upkeep and repairs to guarantee national security. To properly manage the lifecycle of these parts, the AF must have the capability to identify and develop sources of repair and replacement from both organic and commercial sources. The technology proposed will leverage artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) paired with advanced computer vision techniques to save thousands of unbudgeted hours that the engineers have to spend to complete these tasks reviewing and approving requests for supportability analysis resulting in source approvals for repair justification.
