Research abstract
Project Abstract: The goal in this project is to provide a basic demonstration of Photon SemanticsÆ Material and Surface Texture LIDARÆs (MST-LIDAR) ability to provide value in Army autonomous use cases.Ā For example, the ability to determine the difference between a wood or concreate wall obscured by vegetation, or a military vehicle purposely obscured with nylon camouflage. MST-LIDAR is an AI based software solution using polarization information of the returned photons in combination with light intensity information and physics-based machine learning.Ā The final deliverable for this project will be a demonstration of MST-LIDAR to segment and classify sheets of materials that are relevant to solving C5ISR and Ground Vehicle System Center autonomous use cases.
