Research abstract

To support ESAeroĺs ongoing efforts to develop & integrate hydrogen (H2) fuel cells into airframes, ESAero proposes to develop a detailed H2 fuel cell energy analysis module for its Python Detailed Aircraft Analysis & Sizing Toolbox (pyDAAST) to fulfill the dual-use need for more predictive analysis of H2 air vehicle performance. Development of this capability will advance the ongoing industry efforts to mature H2 power systems by enabling the retrofitting of existing UAV platforms and/or develop new aircraft leveraging H2 fuel cell technology. The proposed follow-on efforts will be towards providing sizing analysis and vehicle development to meetácustomer requirements. á
