Research abstract

The proposed adaptation involves leveraging Latent AI's LEIP SDK to optimize and deploy AI models for high-quality, rapid, and edge-based Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS). This includes the compressing and optimizing anomaly detection algorithms for efficient operation on low-size, weight, and power (SWaP) systems, integrating these models with UAS hardware for real-time processing, and ensuring secure AI runtimes. The adaptation also involves training AI models using real-world datasets to ensure accurate damage assessment. These efforts will enable the U.S. Air Force to deploy a state-of-the-art BDA system that provides precise, real-time intelligence on the battlefield, supporting autonomous UAS operations and reducing collateral damage.
