Research abstract
To address the DAFĺs need for Cyber Situational Understanding, Cyberspatial is proposing áan innovative approach to passive network mapping, leveraging the power of deep packet inspection (DPI) to extract actionable insights from raw network traffic data to meet identification of Mission Relevant Terrain in Cyberspace (MRT-C). By harnessing DPI's granular analysis capabilities, we aim to construct a comprehensive and accurate representation of the underlying network topology without relying on active probing techniques. Our method promises to provide the Department of the Airforce with a non-intrusive, real-time means of visualizing and understanding their network's structure, facilitating efficient troubleshooting, security monitoring, and capacity planning. This research represents a significant advancement in network management and security, offering a more robust, scalable, and privacy-conscious alternative to traditional active scanning methods.
