Research abstract

The proposed innovation is a software tool to quickly validate mission key performance indicators (KPI)s in the context of operational priorities and resource competition by generating realistic command schedules and evaluating the schedule for performance against those KPIs.á The tool also iterates through modifications of the mission model to find models that meet the performance objectives under operational constraints. Specifically, we propose to develop a system that does the following:á Provides the user with a cloud-based form for mission-model data & constraint entry. Builds an AMMOS Aerie-compatible mission modelá Generates a near-optimal extended-duration activity schedule including ground contact activities and tasked payload activities, if relevant to the mission. Adds in station-keeping maneuvers, canceling payload and downlink activities as necessary for stating keeping requirements. Uses AMMOS Aerie software to generate a command schedule Analyzes the generated schedule against the performance objectives Iterates on the mission model based on a range value provided by the user Produces table(s) and/or chart showing the performance of the constellation against the objectives for each value in the range provided for the mission model.
