Research abstract

DLITE, aĀDeep Learning Immersive Training Environment,Āaddresses the need to create a deep learning environment that can provide an environment for aspiring Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) engineers to apply knowledge gained through classroom and online training in a hands-on lab setting. DLITE's highly extensible, modular, and secure digital learning environment will be foundational for Department of the Air ForceÆs (DAF) success in perfecting digital fluency. DLITEĀwill be a critical enabler for modernizing the DAFÆs digital domain, innovating deep learning warfighting capabilities, and delivering capability. DLITEĀallows aspiring AI/ML engineers to apply gained knowledge and forward-thinking to develop new capabilities that will help reduce human intervention, improve task execution efficiency, and drastically decrease labor and operational costs. Additionally, DLITE will provide a broader set of innovation as aspiring ML engineers apply knowledge to applications. The expansion of data capabilities will help users develop a better understanding of digital tools and help accelerate digital transformation. This will allow the DAF to enhance its competitive edge and strengthen its technological stronghold.
