Research abstract
Manifest, in partnership with Tufts University, is developing a Generative Artificial Intelligence Bills of Materials (AIBOM) management platform to enable the USAF and greater DoD to better understand, manage, and reduce their software supply chain risks and bring trust and transparency to their AI models.ĀThe latest advances in generative artificial intelligence models are having a dramatic impact on our everyday lives.Ā As CEOs and government leadersĀrush to adopt this technology to improve their operations, students use it to pass the bar exam, and political campaigns confront the reality of deep fakes, we are left with an unsettling reality: a technology that a vast majority of people, companies, and policymakers donÆt understand is rapidly proliferating around the world, getting access to increasingly sensitive data and systems.Ā The US government, DoD, and USAF now face the important task of developing a system for responsibly integrating generative AI to maximize impact, mitigate risk, and increase transparency.Ā Manifest CyberÆs novel AI bill of materials management platform builds off breakthroughs in software supply chain security and extends it to generative AI models.
