Research abstract

Manifest is developing the world’s first Software Bills of Materials (SBOM) lifecycle management capability as an end-to-end solution that auto-generates SBOMs, integrates into a user friendly SBOM repository that mitigates vulnerabilities and allows unprecedented insight into an organization’s software supply chain. A “Software Bill of Materials” (SBOM) is a nested inventory for software – a list of ingredients that make up software components. Today’s weapon systems are heavily computerized and contain various sources of software, each with their own vulnerabilities. Manifest’s capability will allow the USAF and DoD to better understand, manage, and reduce their software supply chain vulnerabilities.
