Research abstract

Security Forces operations today leverage both unmanned platforms and security sensors to protect respective base perimeters. A recurring gap for some bases that Asylon has identifed is that bases also have maritime geographies that naturally extend their security operations to the maritime domain. This gap leaves Airmen teams with large physical security vulnerabilities and threat vectors which originate from maritime domains. Additionally, to prepare for future conflict with near-peer combatants in the PACAF region, this same capability is needed to extend the digital security perimeter of expeditionary air bases to properly secure them from threats. The goal for this effort is twofold: reduce the amount of time from alert to response, and reduce potential casualties by extending the detection range of Security Force teams using assets to secure expeditionary base operations surrounded by maritime geographies.
