Research abstract

One of the greatest threats to National Security is the mishandling of sensitive information. According to PonemonÆs 2020 Insider Threats Report, 61% of data breaches involving an insider are primarily unintentional, caused by negligence. With an increase in widespread hacking and for-profit data sharing of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), organizations worldwide are concerned about what happens with their sensitive data and how to safely secure it. DAF medical personnel need a solution to comply with HIPAA mandates that completely redact files to avoid accidental exposure of confidential medical information. Redactable is a cloud-based software application built to redact confidential documents fast. The proprietary software leverages Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning technology to auto-detect sensitive information in documents and redacts them permanently, delivering secure redaction, document scrubbing, and AI-driven workflows. We will execute a 3-month systematic and intensive feasibility study of our AI-driven Redaction Software with the 59th MDW Spark Cell Lead to establish the scope of modifications needed for the Phase II to adapt the core technology to fit the End-User's mission. Redactable will reduce the labor hours DAF medical teams spend on redacting sensitive data by 98%
