Research abstract

The opioid crisis is a pressing issue in the United States, with over 2 million reported overdose incidents and tens of thousands of annual fatalities. Military personnel and veterans bear a disproportionate burden, experiencing opioid misuse rates double that of the civilian population. This crisis not only jeopardizes the health of these individuals but also undermines the readiness and operational capabilities of the U.S. defense forces. In response, we present an innovative naloxone distribution platform that leverages cutting-edge technologies. By seamlessly integrating artificial intelligence with established ride-sharing networks and strategically positioned naloxone dispensing locations. Our platform ensures swift access to this life-saving medication during critical overdose situations. Furthermore, we collaborate with an FDA-approved naloxone device manufacturer to incorporate wireless communication and monitoring, guaranteeing timely and effective administration when every second counts. Our solution, centred around the Omniject auto-injector, a patented device enhanced with AI capabilities, represents a significant advancement in opioid crisis management. It is versatile, adaptable to various emergency environments, and well-suited for both military exigencies and civilian scenarios. From military bases to urban centers, our platform promises a comprehensive and integrated solution to address opioid-related challenges, ultimately safeguarding lives, enhancing defense readiness, and contributing to a healthier society.
