Research abstract

This proposal is for the development of the Marine Electronic Attack SImulation System (MEASIS), an innovative low cost Electronic Warfare Training Hardware device for use by Marine Infantry warfighters to acquire and sustain skills to deal with the evolving threats of EW attack. MEASIS will fulfill an urgent unmet need to support EW defense training exercises at home station, while deployed ashore, and aboard ship.Ā The system will stimulate operational C2 as well as EA, EP, and ES equipment with signal attenuating EM assaults that inflict temporary non-destructive adversary EA effects to create a response problem for trainees who are learning to deal with counterpart events in the real EW battlespace. Our Phase I focus will be on replicating the effects of adversary jamming of communications. MEASIS takes advantage of emergent inexpensive Software Defined Radio technology to meet all requested training requirements and to achieve an expected acquisition cost of $1260, which is well below the stated objective of $1500. Perceptronics brings a powerful team to this opportunity. Our focus is on the use of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning technologies to optimize real-time planning, decision making, training and performance assessment. We are joined in this effort by two highly qualified subcontractors: Pacific Defense/ Spectranetix is a company specializing in Electronic Warfare (EW); Valkyrie Enterprises is a preeminent provider of advanced engineering services and technology solutions oriented to support United StatesÆ warriors and allies.
