Research abstract

The next wave of revolutionary progress in electronics will greatly rely on easily customizable semiconductor and microelectronic devices that can be rapidly and affordably manufactured with integration of varied miniaturized components. Sunray Scientific’s multifunctional magnetically-aligned ZTACH® ACE (Anisotropic Conductive Epoxy) is an innovative electronic interconnect technology replacing conventional solder for rigid and flexible substrates.  Coupled with existing Surface Mount Technology manufacturing processes, it forms the basis for realizing smaller, lighter, and more cost-effective electronic systems.  ZTACH® ACE has proven to increase reliability with high conductivity and outstanding bond strength.  This combined multifunctional interconnect material and magnetic processing technology enables high volume production capabilities supporting a wide array of stressing aerospace, automotive, and medical applications.  The objective of this initiative is to partner with Lockheed Martin and Rochester Institute of Technology to develop and demonstrate ZTACH® ACE for a functional conformal antenna mounted atop the wing surface of a Condor UAV to provide beam steering capabilities.
