Research abstract
Baseline Global, Inc. is a biotech corporation comprised of a world-class team including a neuropsychologist, neurocognitive sports performance expert, disease detection researcher and business development and commercialization leaders. Our device is being developed as a non-invasive, disposable, rapid device for initial assessment of brain-related and other conditions, such as COVID-19, using saliva to measure the elevation of select biomarkers in a timely ‘pass/fail’ result like a pregnancy test. The continued prevalence of medical issues such as traumatic brain injury(TBI)/concussions and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in the military are requiring novel medical intervention not only in treatment paradigms, but also for earlier detection. Between 2000-2018, there were over 52,000 cases of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in the USAF alone. Also, a report highlights that 11-20% percentage of war veterans in the US military have reported PTSD it is estimated that ~30% have had PTSD in their lifetime. The cumulative data highlights the need for earlier medical interventions and diagnostic tools to better test these conditions to treat our soldiers more rapidly. Our non-invasive, disposable device allows for a rapid assessment of brain-related conditions using saliva to measure select biomarkers.
