Research abstract

HackEDU offers an on-demand, hands-on platform that trains developers to reduce vulnerabilities in the software they write. Our approach leverages three things (1) We teach the offensive side, so developers gain an understanding of how hackers attack software systems (2) We teach the defensive side, so developers learn to identify, find and fix, and prevent vulnerabilities in code (3) We use learning science principles to deliver perfectly timed, interactive training that engages developers without pulling them away from their roadmap for extended periods. During the Phase I Period of Performance, HackEDU will explore the problem with Platform One and LevelUp, conduct a research and development based feasibility study, explore anticipated benefits, clearly define needed adaptations, and define clear milestones and acceptance criteria for Phase II efforts. Additionally, HackEDU will continuously network to find and engage as many potential End-Users/Customers as possible.
