Research abstract

Fast Authentication for Tactical Interfaces (FATI) provides continuous EUD authentication through the use of multiple biometric identifiers.FATI eliminates the need for intentional user input to keep the EUD unlocked so long as the EUD remains under the direct control of the authorized user. When positive biometric identification cannot be made, FATI locks the EUD to preclude unauthorized access. The proposed Phase II effort will build upon our successful Phase I R&D effort to develop a TRL 6 FATI software/hardware prototype that can be integrated with the BAO Kit to provide instantaneous, secure EUD access. In Phase III necessary information assurance certifications would be obtained and the system further developed into a TRL 8 product that can be acquired by different Air Force, Army, and Navy programs of record that require continuous user authentication for their tactical EUDs.
