TrueMark: Developing a Teacher-Controlled AI Writing Platform

TrueMark’s existing product is a web-based platform that empowers teachers to administer and oversee AI-enhanced writing assignments. Our platform is carefully designed to make classroom AI use transparent and responsible. Take a take-home essay, for example: with TrueMark, a teacher can create an assignment on the platform and create a custom AI copilot for that assignment that's aligned to custom rubrics, course materials, and desired behaviors. Then, students work on their assignments in our Google Docs-like environment with the teacher-created AI copilot built in. The AI copilot only asks questions and doesn’t give away answers. Students can also “scan” their progress against their teacher’s rubric to get instant and actionable feedback. The new component we propose is a fully integrated “feedback loop” that continuously adapts our platform to meet each classroom’s and student’s unique needs. At its heart is an AI-driven engine that takes in every piece of teacher feedback and uses it to refine how our tutoring system assesses and guides both individual students and the class as a whole.
