Research abstract
To help college students develop career-ready skills, our team at Curiously proposes a large-language-model-powered simulation tool that enables students to practice these skills in realistic, low-stakes environments. Unlike traditional simulations built on rigid, pre-made animations, our tool leverages generative AI to deliver dynamic and responsive experiences. It can assume various roles and scenarios, adapt to learners' responses, and provide immediate feedback through real-time audio and video interactions. To address
common limitations of language models, such as losing narrative focus or hallucination, we incorporate long-term memory mechanisms, retrieval augmented generation, and multiple agent roles for continuous fact-checking and evaluation.
When fully developed, the platform will include adaptive LLM-powered roleplaying modules, a practice and feedback engine, an instructor and administrator portal, and additional supporting materials. The primary users of this tool will be college students at two-year and four-year institutions,
particularly sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are preparing for internships or post-graduation employment. Secondary users will include faculty members
and career services professionals, who will facilitate or supervise student engagement with the platform. This product is designed to integrate seamlessly into career-readiness courses and professional development seminars, while
also being accessible for students to use independently for self-directed skill-building.
