Research abstract

There is a need to assess and estimate the recuperation time of a given target system following exposure to High Power Microwave (HPM)/radio frequency (RF) fields. Vigilant Cyber Systems, Inc. (VCS) proposes to develop its Automatic Virtual Target Generator (AVTG) as a framework to produce large scale virtual surrogates of real-world digital systems for efficient simulated HPM response testing and the development of digital system recuperation time estimates. AVTG will complement the Air Force Research Laboratory’s (AFRL) existing suite of tools for HPM modeling and effect testing, which includes the Joint Radio Frequency Effectiveness Model (JREM), the Toolkit for Assessing Electromagnetic Disruption Recovery (TAEMDR), and the Time-Out-of-Action Simulator (TOA-Sim).
