Research abstract

Ruggedized Additive Mobile Manufacturing Units (RAMMUs) are advanced, point-of-need production platforms engineered to deliver versatile, multi-material manufacturing capabilities directly to forward operating bases. Designed to operate in austere and remote environments, RAMMUs empower military personnel to rapidly repair or replace critical equipment on-site—ensuring mission continuity and operational readiness in even the most challenging conditions. Each RAMMU is a fully integrated, self-contained system that combines multiple additive and subtractive manufacturing technologies into a single, ruggedized unit. This end-to-end solution streamlines the fabrication and repair process, enabling real-time, on-demand production in the field without reliance on external supply chains. This proposal introduces the Snowbird RAMMU, a next-generation mobile manufacturing solution developed by Snowbird Technologies, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida. Leveraging a proven track record in hybrid point-of-need manufacturing platforms, Snowbird Technologies is uniquely positioned to deliver a multi-capable, multi-material system.
