Research abstract

Lunar Resources proposes the ôHelix Tactical Power Inverterö (HTPI) SBIR Direct-to-II (DP2) project to the U.S. Army (USA). This 24-month initiative aims to design, prototype, test, and demonstrate an advanced bidirectional inverter system specifically tailored for tactical military applications where efficient energy management is critical. The system is powered by LUNARĺs innovative Helix Driver (HELIX), which facilitates efficient dual-power transfer and energy storage capabilities. The HTPI prototype will safely and efficiently convert the power required for tactical loads while also enabling power conversion to manage energy sources such as tactical vehicles, batteries, and microgrids. The HTPI project seeks to achieve Technology Readiness Level 7 by the conclusion of the DP2 phase, positioning it as a paramount solution for next-generation military power systems and fostering commercialization efforts in the broader market.
