Research abstract

To create an integrated decentralized software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) integrated with an NSA-approved High Assurance Internet Protocol Encryptor (HAIPE) enabling microsegmented zero-trust across classified (‘red’) networks for proliferated space systems. Integrating the SDA’s existing investments in SpiderOak technology into high-performance Collins HAIPEs as an SD-WAN provides secure, decentralized zero-trust microsegmentation across the PWSA red network. By building this capability, the SDA has options that are fast, powerful, and measurably increase both the capabilities and cyber resilience of the PWSA through an easily-adoptable security module.
